It's an exciting day at SyntaxTree. We are very proud to announce that, as of today, SyntaxTree - including the team that built the UnityVS plugin for Visual Studio - has been acquired by Microsoft. We will be joining the Visual Studio team.

You can learn more from Microsoft's corporate vice president in charge of Visual Studio and head of the Developer Division, S. Somasegar, on his blog.

We cannot express strongly enough our appreciation of the support and encouragement we've received from the Unity game development community in the years leading to this milestone for our company. Thank you very, very much for your involvement. We could not have gotten here without you and we're looking forward to continuing to deliver more and better features in UnityVS.

Related to that, if you've purchased UnityVS we want to thank you again, as well as assure that you will continue to have access to the great UnityVS tools you've come to rely upon. We'll be reaching out to each UnityVS customer with further details on your ongoing service. Integration of UnityVS and Visual Studio is only going to get better, and we'll be looking for you to help us do that, through your feedback and continued support.

SyntaxTree is very proud to be one of the select few platinum sponsor of Unite 2013 in Vancouver.

This Unite will be the biggest Unity conference of the year, and marks a very special milestone for SyntaxTree and the UnityVS team, as it will be the one year anniversary of the initial release of UnityVS.

We will be doing a UnityVS demonstration during the conference. Keep an eye on the Unite schedule as sponsored sessions will be announced soon.

We're looking forward to meeting you at our booth and celebrating with you!

C# FastSpring API

We're currently happily relying on FastSpring to handle transactions for UnityVS. As advertised, we've experienced great customer support.

Whenever you purchase UnityVS through FastSpring, it will request licenses and notify our system of different events, such as new orders for instances.

Today we're opening the code of two libraries that we've using to interact with FastSpring:

  • SyntaxTree.FastSpring: A library to validate the license requests the and different notifications that FastSpring performs.
  • SyntaxTree.FastSpring.Api: A library to query the REST API that FastSpring exposes, currently limited to the scope of that we're using.

Both are licensed under the permissive MIT/X11 license. We hope you'll find them useful.

We're a proud to announce that our first product, UnityVS is available for purchase.

We've been amazed by the amount of positive feedback we received during the private beta, and during Unite 2012. We're proud to be part of the Unity ecosystem.

Shipping UnityVS turns the page over a year of development and 5 months of private beta. We're already hard at work at fixing recently reported bugs, and at supporting new scenarios, like debugging Unity 4, or having support for Visual Studio 2012. You can check UnityVS's roadmap to learn about what will be coming to UnityVS.

Many thanks to everyone who encouraged us and helped us with UnityVS.
